Since my birth, I have been living in Balıkesir. My hometown has air pollution problem. But this problem hasn’t solved yet. When the word pollution is mentioned, almost everyone appreciates that we are talking about a problem affecting all society. Now, pollution has become the most serious problem in the world. People have started to become concerned about the effects of pollution.
What is Air Pollution? Air pollution is a serious problem in many of the worlds big cities. Heavy concentrations of air pollutants, which are often in the form of smog, settle over a city, creating a health hazard for its people. Air pollution occurs when wastes dirty the air. People produce most of the wastes that cause air pollution. Such wastes are usually in the form of gases. These substances result chiefly from burning fuel to power motor vehicles and to heat buildings. Industrial processes and the burning of garbage also contribute to air pollution. Natural pollutants include dust, pollen, soil particles, and naturally occurring gases.
Every year there are changes in climate in different parts of the world. Some of these changes are due to natural causes. However, some climatic changes are caused by air pollution and these changes may increase.I do not believe that we are a selfish people without concern for the world's poor or the well being of future generations. So the question is, why aren't more of us environmentalists? In light of this question, I suggest we think about our privileged position in the world.
With the increased "environmental awareness," many new constructions have
been established based on pollution control in Balıkesir. They regulate the standards on pollution output and help to assure that constructions play by the rules. With the reduction of pollution, we have seen many positive benefits for life in general. In the 20th Century we began to realize something very important. We came to understand that we have something to gain from living more in harmony with the natural world.

My Ideal Husband
I want an ideal husband like everbody too. Firstly I want a husband so that I can mother his children.I am free and miserable trying to find my soul mate and when I find a husband he will do everything or at least make his wife happy. My husband sholud support me with money. He should cook for me when I am not up to it, he should massage my feet when I come home after a hard days work. :)
I want a husband who will make sure the dishes are done when I have no time to do them and he will do this for me without me asking. He sholud take care of my children when I need a break from life. Furthermore my husband should take care of my physical needs.
Sometimes I want a rich husband. A rich husband can be a good provider. He can provide me with several of my needs. I need a maid who can clean our house, wash our clothes and buy groceries. Having a maid would allow me to spend more time with my family. I do not want the maid to cook for me. Cooking for the family will be done by me. Of course, if I cook I would love to have my husband help me in the kitchen.I want a husband who is well-educated with a good job and earns a lot of money. With a lot of money we can travel the world.
I want a husband that will not complain when he feels that he is doing more then me. He should take care of me when I am ill, he will bring me to my doctor’s appointments and he will miss work if I want him to be home to take care of my ailing body. My husband who will listen to my problems and try to help me solve them without getting frustrated. My husband should just give me the love and support he knows he wants in return.Maybe I want a lot of things but an ideal husband should accord with these criterias according to me :) Who woundn't want a husband who can make happy these ways ? :)

Miracle Worker & Angela's Ashes
If I contrast two movies , I can say that I like 'Angela's Ashes'. Because 'Miracle Worker' is black white movie so it isn't atttractive so much. Two movies are different from each other. 'Miracle Workers' theme is hope , but Angela's Ashes' is different .Their messages are also different.' Miracle Workers' says that you never give up.As character , I like Helen . Because she is more effective than other characters. To sum up two movies are very good . : )

* The Horse Farm ( descriptive essay sample )
I am jarred out of a relaxing sleep by a voice yelling my name in a loud whisper, and a light burning through my eyelids. Groggily, I open my eyes to see my father standing in the doorway to my messy room. He tells me that I need to get going, that it is 3:00 a.m., and I'm burning daylight. I find my clothes and get dressed. The whole time I wonder why I get up this early to visit the rugged outdoors. I want to go back to bed, but I know my dad will be back in to make sure I am getting ready, in a little bit. Instead, I put my boots and my wide-brimmed, black cowboy hat on, and walked out to catch the horses. The horses are all excited because it is dark and they are not that cooperative. My dad and I get them saddled and in the trailer, and go back into the house to get our lunch, water, and a cup of coffee. Now, we can head for the high country.
It is still dark when we get there, so our horses are still very alert; they keep moving around and snorting with eyes wide and nostrils flared. I strap my pistol to my hips and tie the tip of the holster to my leg so it doesn't flop. We are ready to go, so I take a deep breath of the sharp, clean, mountain air and step into the saddle. As we ride along in the dark, I begin to relax. Man, I love the smell of cool mountain air; there is nothing in the world quite like it. It is so refreshing for me.
As the sky begins to brighten to a gray, and the stars that were so brilliant just seconds ago begin to grow dim, my imagination starts to picture things moving that are really nothing but shadows in the trees. It is as if the shadows are racing around trying to find their owners before the sun peeks its gleaming face up over the horizon. A deer jumps from its bed, scaring the horses and pumping a quart of adrenaline through my system, as my pistol jumps to my hand. Once I realize it is just a deer, I put my pistol back in its holster.
In the last seconds before the sun rises, the sky turns a soft blue. The sun breaks the horizon and begins to shine its warmth down on me; I can see more of the beauty that is all around me. I can see beams of light perfectly outlining the ragged mountains, as I look across the valley. As the sun floats higher in the pure blue sky, it reveals more and more of the beauty that the land holds. In every direction my eyes take in the trees, cattle grazing on a side hill, and elk moving through the aspen trees. Sometimes, when I am here, I will see a coyote appear and then vanish like the wind.
Each time I visit this place I get the same relaxing feeling, yet in a way it is new. When I look upon the beauty of nature, I know that these places were created knowing there would be people like me on earth to enjoy them.

Global Warming ( cause & effect )
Our world is suffering, and it is suffering from something people call the "Greenhouse" effect. The greenhouse effect is caused by humans over pollution of the earth. If we do not stop this soon the earth will "die". We have caused this over many years of over industrialization in this growing world. We think that bigger is better, so we make vehicles bigger and better, and we make pretty much everything else bigger as well. So we make larger factories to build these larger things, and these larger factories release larger amounts of pollution.
Scientist have been predicting the outcome of this change for years now, but none of these scientists believe in the same thing. The ones that do think that it will come at a different time. So people are still optimistic on what is going to happen, and when it is going to take place.
First, to understand what the greenhouse effect is, we must first understand what a Greenhouse is. A Greenhouse is a building made either of clear plastic sheets, or of glass. The sun's rays go through the glass, and heat up the air inside the building, and they have a hard time getting out. These rays get trapped inside the building, and continually heat the air inside, and even through the night the rays stay in and heat the air. The greenhouse is also called a "hot house" because it gets so hot.
The greenhouse effect is caused by gases such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen escaping into the atmosphere. These gases get trapped in the ozone layer and do not let the suns rays escape very easily. This causes the earth to warm up. This warming can cause droughts, and this would really affect the farmers. This heating up will cause the plants and animals would die.

making coffee ( process )
Coffee is a beverage, which most people drink, and the majority of them do not know how coffee is made. The process of making coffee is a complex procedure, which make this beverage rich in flavor. The first step in the process of coffee making is picking up every cherry carefully. The picking of cherries has to be very precise because if the cherry is picked up to early it will lack of essential sweetness, but if the cherry is picked up to late it will be sour. The second step is the process in which they take out all the soft juicy fruit of the cherry and leave the coffee bean pealed. During this process the coffee is separated the by altitudes, and quality.
The next step to follow is fermentation, in this process they leave the coffee beans in long tanks for the coffee to release all the honey left from the pulp. The third step washing the coffee beans. During this process the beans are placed in large tanks filled with water pressure, which leaves the beans with no honey leftovers. It also separates the coffee beans by quality, the beans that float are the low quality beans and the ones that are in the bottom of the tank are the good quality beans.
During the drying process all the beans are arranged in a yard outdoors, the wind and the sun are in charge of drying the beans. The last step roasting the coffee, in this process is where the roaster will decide the taste of the batch of coffee being roasted. All these steps to follow are the steps coffee beans go through before consumers can actually drink it. It is important to have knowledge of things that are involved in our lives like coffee.

school violence ( argumentative )
School violence is a big problem we are facing now. Do we feel safe in school? Not only students are involved in this issue, but teachers are also involved. Every morning when I go to school, I pray for safety in my heart, and so do my parents, and every day I come back home safely as everybody hopes. School is not an absolutely good place for learning anymore. Years ago, parents always told their children go to school earlier, so they could learn more. Every single parent wished their kids would go to school and get a good education. But look at today's society, parents say, "don't go to school too early, because there might be bad people hiding somewhere."
School violence stops students from learning. They are afraid, as is everybody. School violence is a result of major facotrs in society today. Family problems, such as parents getting divorced or parents not always being at home; Media, such as movies, TV shows or news are threatening the safety and security of schools.
Home is the first place where children start to learn. Before entering school, they learn everyhting from home. Home used to present a warm place filled with love where everybody wished to be. Family problems today make the role of family even more important in society. How many run-away kids look for the love they need and the care they want? They can't get it from home, so they end up being mean, acting odd and physically show that htey need help. Family problems cause school violence, we need a safe place to learn. Parents are responsible from the kids, but the busy work lives they lead they care more about than their kids and this makes children feel left out. Do parents really care about this? Did they realize that the problem is growing bigger and bigger? Parents have to pay more attention to the family, not only for kids but also society.
TV shows are important programs, which kids watch almost everyday. Do you know how important the TV show influences children? Teenagers copy actions or movements from movies and TV shows, why can't the media be careful with the things they show in public? Kids want go be heroes like the actors and actresses on movies, they bring firearms and explosives to school. They think they are cool in that way, but we think they are fools. Teenagers copy, they don't think life is important anymore. Kids feel, "because the movie stars can do it, I can do it too." With this horrible sentence stuck in their mind, nothing can stop them from being crazy. Students have the right to feel safe in school! With everything going on in this world why is there room for hate, prejudice, discrimination?
What work needs to be done regarding unhealed wounds in society? Thirty-seven percent of eighth and ninth grade students were afraid of attacks at school. School violence decreases along with major factors in society today. Warm families, educated media, and decreasing racism are things that have to be done. We need a safe place to learn and to live.

why dolphins aren't fish? ( classification )
There are many reasons why dolphins are not classified as fish. From there classification to the way they breathe. Though these creatures are very different, they do have few similarities. To begin, dolphins and fish have very different classifications. Dolphins are actually classified as a type of whale, which are classified as mammals, while fish are classified as Pisces. There are 12 different warm-blooded species of dolphin as opposed to the 20,000 cold-blooded species of fish.
Secondly, the birth process of dolphins and fish are very different. Dolphins for instance have internal fertilization. Live births take place and afterwards the young are taken care of. On the other hand fish have external fertilization. Once the eggs are hatched the babies are not taken care of.
The bodies and movement of these two animals are also different. Dolphins have a smooth body and swims with the up and down movement of their tail. Fish have scaly bodies and swim with a side-to-side movements of their tail. Breathing methods also differ. Dolphins breathe from the air through the blowholes on the top of their heads. Fish breathe from the water through gills on the sides of their head. Though there are many differences between dolphins and fish, they do have few similarities. Such as, they are both threatened by humans, they will both die if out of water too long, and they are both found in fresh and salt waters. With all these differences and few similarities, this answers the question.

Beautiful Meadow ( descriptive )
I stepped through a low arch made by two vine maples pushing past the chest-high ferns into a beautiful meadow. The meadow is perfectly round as if someone had intentionally created the flawless circle, tearing out the trees but leaving non evidence of that violence in the waving grass. To the east, I can hear the stream bubbling quietly. The meadow is so stunning with the sunlight that you can only see through the cracks between the trees over my head. It is beautiful and serene. The trees are so tall that I had to lie down on the wavy grass just to see the top.
In the meadow, I see dozens and dozens of flowers of every colour. It is the wrong season for wildflowers, the ground is thick and moist so as I walked I could see my footprints behind me. The meadow has tall grass that swayed in the light breeze like ripples across a lake. As I touched the tall wet grass it tickled the tips of my fingers. The smell of the meadow was fresh and sweet which relaxed me. There are two huge rocks by the lake suitable to sit on. As I walked over to these rocks the rhythm of my footprints started to numb by mind. As I gazed over the magnificent view of the huge valley that lay before me, I can see a beautiful lake that glittered in the sunlight.
At a distance, that only could be seen when I squinted my eyes. I can see a huge, beautiful waterfall that is crashing down into a long river which caused it to make foam. Above my head, I can hear birds singing happily as they flew to their nests.
Slowly, it turned dark until I could not see my hand in front of my face. I lay down on my back, wild flowers all around me as I can see millions of tiny stars in the sky. Tonight the moon is twice the size than I ever seen it before. I can hear owls hooting in the distance. I am relaxed. I fell asleep faster than I thought I would in my beautiful meadow.

Mobile phones at school ( opinion )
Nowadays more and more students bring their mobile phones to school. While I believe that students should carry mobile phones in case of an emergency, I am strongly opposed to phones being used at school, particularly in the classroom.
Firstly, many students travel to and from school without their parents. Therefore, it is important for them to have a mobile phone in case they need help or have an accident on the way to school or home.Furthermore, parents who work may need to contact their children. For example, if a parent has to work late, the student has to be told if arrangements have been made for a relative or neighbour to look after them. On the other hand, nothing is more disruptive during a lesson than the sound of a mobile phone ringing or playing an annoying tune. Moreover, students who send and receive text messages in class are not paying attention to the lesson.
In conclusion, I feel that students should be allowed to take mobile phones to school for use in an emergency. However, all phones should certainly be turned off during lessons.
